Privacy Policy

1. Summary

Lull does not require an account and does not sell personal data. The app stores your focus settings, favorites, and playback preferences locally on your device. Lull uses Firebase services to understand app usage, diagnose crashes, and monitor performance. It connects to third-party radio directory and stream services to provide internet radio playback.

2. Data we collect or process

2.1 Data stored on your device

• onboarding completion and preference choices;
• selected focus mode and timer state;
• favorite stations and last-played station;
• settings such as theme and focus-related preferences.

This data is used to provide the app’s core features. It is not used to identify you directly and is not sold.

2.2 App diagnostics, analytics, and performance data

Lull uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Performance Monitoring. These services may process technical data such as app version, package name, installation identifiers, device model, operating system version, language, crash traces, timestamps, diagnostic logs, performance events, network timing, and approximate country or region derived from IP address by service providers.

We use this data to understand reliability, fix crashes, measure performance, and improve the app. We do not use this data to sell personal data.

2.3 Internet radio and station directory data

Lull connects to internet services to load radio station information and play radio streams. These services may receive network information such as your IP address, user agent, requested station or stream URL, and request timing. Their handling of data is controlled by their own policies.

2.4 Google Play discovery surfaces

On supported devices, Lull uses Google Play Engage to publish station recommendations and a continue-listening card to Google Play surfaces. The published metadata may include a station identifier, name, short tag-based description, artwork URL, playback App Link, and the last-played station. Lull does not publish focus history or timer details through Engage.

2.5 Wear OS companion data

If you use the Wear OS companion, Lull syncs limited state between your phone and watch using the Wear OS Data Layer, including current station name and playback state, timer mode, phase, remaining time and running state, and watch commands such as play/pause, start, skip, or reset.

This sync is used only to mirror and control the app across your paired devices.

2.6 Permissions

• Internet access: to load station data and play radio streams.
• Notifications and foreground services: to keep playback and focus timer controls available while the app is in the background.
• Exact alarms: to keep focus phase timing reliable.
• Vibration and full-screen alerts on Wear OS: to notify you when a focus phase ends.
• Do Not Disturb access: optional, used only if you enable focus interruption controls.

Lull does not request access to your contacts, precise location, SMS, calendar, photos, camera, payment information, or account credentials.

3. How we use data

• provide lo-fi radio playback and focus timer features;
• save your app preferences and favorites;
• sync timer and playback state with Wear OS;
• show notifications and timer alerts;
• diagnose crashes and performance issues;
• understand aggregate app usage and improve the product;
• comply with legal obligations and protect the app from abuse.

4. Sharing and service providers

We may share or process data with service providers that help operate the app, including Google Firebase services for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring; Google Play services for station recommendations and continue-listening surfaces; the Wear OS Data Layer for phone-watch communication; and radio directory and streaming providers needed to load and play stations.

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, RinWave, or others.

5. Data retention

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Firebase retention depends on the service and current Firebase settings. If you contact us by email, we may retain your message and email address as long as needed to respond, handle support, maintain business records, or comply with legal obligations.

6. Your choices

• delete local app data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling Lull;
• remove favorites and change preferences inside the app;
• deny optional permissions such as notifications or Do Not Disturb access;
• disconnect or uninstall the Wear OS companion;
• contact us at [email protected] with privacy questions or deletion requests.

Lull currently does not provide user accounts. If account features are added in the future, this policy will be updated with account deletion instructions.

7. Children

Lull is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. International processing

Service providers used by Lull, including Google Firebase, may process data in countries other than where you live. We rely on service providers’ security and data processing terms where applicable.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. Firebase services use encryption in transit, and some Firebase services also encrypt data at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes or legal requirements change. The updated version will be identified by a new effective date.
